Gary Sawyers

Board Member

After living abroad for several years, Gary and his wife Pam conducted a worldwide search for their “forever home” and chose Kirkland. They were struck by Kirkland’s beauty, parks, trails, walkability and abundant amenities. They cannot imagine a better choice. They are deeply committed to protecting, preserving and enhancing all that Kirkland is.

Gary is a retired attorney who specialized in natural resources law during his professional life, and he brings that perspective to the Foundation board. He served public agencies and non-profit organizations during his 45-year practice, and helped form multiple NGOs that remain active today.

As a relative newcomer, Gary enjoys exploring Kirkland and the Pacific Northwest, whether on foot, by car, via ferry or otherwise. Gary and Pam still enjoy travelling, but they have focused their adventures more locally now that they are living in downtown Kirkland.

Kirkland Community Foundation has long served as the hub for successful projects inititated by members of our community, including the Save Our Salmon mural and the Waverly Beach Picnic Shelter. Have an idea for a project? Please complete this form as an initial step in the process, and we'll be in touch!
